After so many uncertainties hovering around, the 32nd match of IPL 2022 finally took place between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. Things went in Delhi's favour right from the start of the game as Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first. This decision also proved right for DC as their bowlers were able to send back both the Punjab openers within the first five overs.

DC kept on building the initial momentum as they reduced Punjab to 54/4 in 6.4 overs. All of their bowlers chipped in with a wicket each. However, a little partnership between Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan kept DC bowlers devoid of wickets for a while. But they could not keep DC bowlers quiet for long as Axar Patel removed Jitesh Sharma on the first ball of the 13th over.

But that was not the noticeable bit about the wicket. Axar Patel did not celebrate the wicket even after the umpire gave it out. This was probably due to the uncertainty around the LBW call.

Watch Axar's reaction here:

Punjab plummets at 115

On the back of some fine performances from their bowlers, Delhi were able to restrict Punjab to 115. This was also the lowest total registered by a team in IPL 2022. None of Punjab batters could make the most of the opportunity and perished eventually. While Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan fell to unfortunate dismissals, other Punjab batters gifted their wickets.

The most disappointing performer from the PBKS camp was Shahrukh Khan. As has been the case for him this season, Khan never looked comfortable during his stay at the crease. He was unable to connect and was also consuming deliveries. His struggle was brought to an end by Khaleel Ahmed who got him with an off cutter. Khan was dismissed after scoring 12 runs off 20 balls.
