The match between Galle Gladiators and Kandy Falcons in Lanka Premier League had a horrific incident involving Pakistan’s Azam Khan. The incident took place in the second innings when Khan was keeping to Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep. As the Galle pacer bowled the third ball of the 15th over, the delivery went way-down-leg side. Khan, who was behind the stumps, misjudged the bounce and the ball struck him straight on his head.
The Pakistani player was in extreme pain and went down on the ground holding his head. The support staff immediately had to carry him off on a stretcher. Moeen Khan, Azam’s father, who was also the Gladiators’ head coach, came to him to check his son was alright.
