A hilarious incident took place in Zimbabweโ€™s 45-over domestic competition as a batter accidentally hit the umpire while celebrating his match-winning six. The incident occurred during the match between the SOGO Rangers and Rainbow 1 Cricket Club in the National Premier League. During the game, Rainbow batter Francis Sande got so excited while celebrating his match-winning six that he ended up hitting the umpire.

On the final ball of the match when Rainbow were short of four runs from winning the game, Francis Sande was on the crease. He faced Ryan Burl on the last ball and hit it for a six with a powerful shot. The batter started celebrating the shot right after pulling off maximum and while doing so, he threw his bat into the air which accidentally hit the umpire on the back of his leg.

The match saw SOGO Rangers getting bowled out for 229 with five balls remaining. Number 3 batter Mathew Welch remained the top scorer with 52 runs while Tanatswa Marumani added 34 runs in the final overs. Daniel Jackiel and Francis Sande picked three wickets each for Rainbow 1.

In return, Rainbow 1 lost their openers Ronak Patel and Dhruv Patel for 23 runs in the first 10 overs, while Lavert Masunda came up wit the score of 66 runs. However, Masunda was forced to walk back when the teamโ€™s total was 181 in 37.3 overs. Later, Sande and Jackiel built a stand of 45 runs for the seventh wicket.
