India seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a dig at promising batter Shubman Gill as the latter chose 'scientist' as his alternative career option. Bhuvneshwar, Gill and women team's star opener Shafali Verma were part of a panel at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards. Notably, Gill is currently a part of the India's expedition at the Asia Cup 2023
In a video that has resurfaced on social media, the panel host, star Indian sports presenter Mayanti Langer, asked Bhuvneshwar about Gill's alternative career option. Mayanti asked, "If Shubman Gill had an alternate career, what do you think he would be good at?" Kumar, to which, replied and said that he would be a good artist.
Replying to Langer's question, Gill said "Because I read a lot of science fiction, may be scientist." The 23-year-old continued and said, "My sister is there; she would disagree."
Meanwhile, the veteran jokingly interrupted and said, "Kaunsi class tak padha hai? (Till which standard have you studied?) Answering the question, Gill said, "Abhi chal rahi hai meri graduation. (I'm still doing my graduation)."
Notably, after getting dismissed at 10 runs in India's first match of the Asia Cup 2023, the Punjab-born cricketer played an explosive innings of 67 runs in the game against Nepal. Based on his recent performances, the Gujarat Titans batter has been included in India's ICC ODI World Cup 2023 squad.
