Star guard Jordan Poole was acquired by the Washington Wizards in a deal with the Golden State Warriors on draft day, and it appears that the sharpshooter wasted little time in welcoming Bilal Coulibaly to his new squad. The Wizards traded eighth overall pick Jarace Walker and two second-round picks for the seventh overall pick Bilal Coulibaly from the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.
One of the first players to welcome Coulibaly to Washington after the 2023 NBA Draft was Jordan Poole. At his Wizards press conference on Saturday, Coulibaly made this statement and mentioned that Poole had expressed interest in joining him at the Washington Wizards.
In a recent presser, Coulibaly was asked if any of his teammates reached out to him after the draft and what did they say to him, to which the 18-year-old replied, "Yeah, you know after the draft night, Jordan Poole sent me a text, 'Welcome to DC, can't wait to start working and playing with you."

No one can dispute the fact that Coulibaly possesses a wealth of tools that might make him a high-reward asset for Washington, despite the fact that many believe the Wizards overreached by moving up and picking him at No. 7. He has a reputation for being exceptionally athletic and have the potential to become a top-tier two-way player. Although Coulibaly's offence might be improved, he has already proven in the French league that he has what it takes to do so.
It will be fascinating to watch how he matures in Washington alongside Jordan Poole. The Wizards are in the midst of a complete rebuild, but they may have recently acquired the components to help them get back into the playoff picture.
