Gujarat Titans are taking on Mumbai Indians in match number nine of IPL 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this match, MI skipper Hardik Pandya also made his return after missing the first game against Chennai Super Kings. Notably, he is playing his first game of the season against his previous franchise at its home ground. Last time, when Pandya led MI against GT at the same ground, the crowd didn’t show any mercy as they booed him continuously at the toss time. This was the outcome of Pandya’s shocking transfer from GT to MI ahead of IPL 2024.

However, after one year, the things have completely changed as from boos in the last year, Hardik Pandya got loud cheers from the Motera crowd when he came at toss along with GT skipper Shubman Gill ahead of the match. Notably, Pandya got criticism throughout the last IPL season for his transfer. However, things took a different turn after India won the T20 World Cup in Barbados with Pandya playing a crucial role in India’s triumph, especially in the final. Now, he also turned these boos in his first game of IPL 2025 as MI captain.
