WWE stars with the likes of Braun Strowman, Triple H, Cody Rhodes and Bobby Lashley paid tribute to Bray Wyatt.  Wyatt passed away on August 24 , Thursday, at the age of 36. The WWE celebrities bowed down their heads, as a montage of Wyatt’s best moments in WWE were displayed. Not only this, but the fraternity also paid tribute to another wrestling icon Terry Funk, who passed away on August 23, Wednesday. 

Prior to SmackDown on Friday, August 25, WWE paid tribute to the pair with all the staff members and wrestlers from the roster observing a minute’s silence. It was later followed by a traditional 10-bell salute. To pay tribute to Wyatt, WWE highlighted his career’s best moments before cameras panned to an empty wooden chair he was renowned for sitting in. 

After it, fans sang his theme song, “He's got the whole world in his hands..." Not only this, but the SmackDown broadcast went off air with Wyatt’s iconic going dark in the ring. As L.A. Knight defeated Finn Balor in the main event of the show, lights in the arena went out. The lone lantern was lighting in the ring, and the fans lit up their flashlights as a graphic of the former WWE Champion was displayed.


LA Knight pays tribute to Bray Wyatt

Knight, who was Wyatt’s final rival, both on screen, at the Royal Rumble and Wyatt’s actual final match on February 26, paid tribute to him. He said that though they weren’t best of friends, the former star helped him a lot. Knight said, “Sometimes the greatest foes will turn out to be your greatest helpers.” 

He added, “Let me just go ahead and be honest about this Bray Wyatt and we went through hell that guy did everything imaginable to me and I did everything that I could back to him and through that you know what he was doing he was getting me ready for anything.”
