While Lara cheered for his side’s epic win, he was also seen embracing fellow commentator Adam Gilchrist. “Unbelievable. 27 years to beat Australia in Australia. Young inexperienced, written off! Not only Brian Lara, but former West Indies Test skipper Carl Hooper also broke down in tears after seeing this epic win.
Former WIndies cricketer Ian Bishop also could not control his emotions as he took X (formerly Twitter) to hail the side for this win which came after 27-long years. “This has been one of the best test matches I’ve been privileged to witness,” Bishop wrote on X hailing it to be “most remarkable Test win”.
