Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo pulled out the famous LeBron James ‘Silencer’ celebration to cap off a stunning 3-1 victory over Liverpool. With this win, the Bees continued their brilliant 2022-23 season which includes victories over Premier League giants like Manchester United and Manchester City.

The celebration holds special significance as LeBron James is part of the consortium which owns Liverpool. Thomas Frank’s men were on top of the Reds from the opening whistle as they took a 1-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the game. Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate was on the spot as a Brentford corner deflected off him beating Alisson behind the net.

After conceding the own goal, Liverpool was under pressure as Yoane Wissa managed to double the lead but the goal was disallowed. But the Congolese forward persisted and found the second Bees’ goal in the 42nd minute. The Reds managed to pull one back in the second half, but Mbeumo’s late goal in the 84th minute sealed the victory for Brentford.

LeBron James and Bryan Mbeumo also have a prior connection as the pair were considered doppelgangers of each other. As Mbeumo was playing for Cameroon in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup 2022, fans on social media started comparing the two. As one fan wrote, “I found your twin,” to James on Instagram, accompanied by Mbeumo’s photo, the Los Angeles Lakers star replied: “I mean, I got work to do in other places too.”
