On Monday, February 26, the West Indies legend, Chris Gayle, smashed 10 sixes for Telangana Tigers during the sixth match of the Indian Veterans Premier League (IVPL) against VVIP Uttar Pradesh. Still, Chris Gayle’s 94 wasn’t enough for his team to chase down a massive score of 270 runs, losing by 45 runs at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground.
In pursuit of the 270-run target, the Telangana Tigers opener Chris Gayle saw five wickets fall in the powerplay stage alone, but despite that, he kept on going after the VVIP Uttar Pradesh bowlers. The 44-year-old shared a 93-run stand for the sixth wicket with Kandi-Shashikanth Reddy in double quick time, to keep his team in the contest.
The batting blitz of Chris Gayle ended in the 18th over of the Telangana Tigers, with their scoreboard reading 198-7 after the required run rate went completely out of control. Although he put on a show for the fans in attendance at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, smashing three fours and 10 sixes, scoring 94 runs off just 46 balls.

Pawan Negi scores hundred for VVIP Uttar Pradesh against Telangana Tigers
After the captain of VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Raina won the toss and decided to bat first on a belter of a pitch, they lost the wicket of their opener Bhanu Seth in the first over. It led to Pawan Negi taking control of the innings, smashing all the Telangana Tigers bowlers to complete a remarkable hundred.
Pawan Negi shared an 182-run stand with Anshul Kapoor for the second wicket, playing a key role in VVIP Uttar Pradesh putting a 269/4 total on the scoreboard. The 31-year-old got 139 runs off just 56 balls, hitting 16 fours and eight sixes in his innings.
