Cristiano Ronaldo led his side Al Nassr to winning the Arab Club Champions trophy on August 12, Saturday. This was Al Nassr’s first victory ever since Ronaldo joined the club in December, last year. The Portuguese delivered a sensational performance and scored a brace to lead his side to the historic win over Al Hilal. However, the happiness of the football legend didn’t last long as he suffered an injury during the match and was left in tears while being taken off the field in an ambulance.
With five minutes left to the game, Ronaldo was seen clutching his left thigh, and was immediately carried off. The Portuguese couldn’t play further, and hence, wasn’t able to complete the rest of the final. The blow surely left Ronaldo in agony, and while leaving the ground, the 38-year-old was seen in tears.
The injury left everyone, including the management and Ronaldo Ultras, concerned. However, the football superstar was able to join the team in the celebrations of winning the trophy.
Speaking of the summit clash, Al Hilal’s Brazilian midfielder Michael gained an early advantage five minutes into the game. Later, the Al Nassr captain took the proceedings in his hands, and scored twice in the final encounter that resulted in his side winning the silverware.
