Portugal defeated Poland 3-1 in their third straight Nations League fixture on Saturday, October 12 to keep their perfect record in the tournament. During the Portugal versus Poland match, legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s heartwarming gesture is making rounds on social media.
During the match, Ronaldo stopped security as a fan invaded the field to meet the Portugal legend. The incident took place when Ronaldo was subbed off by the coach Roberto Martinez with Diogo Jota with just under half an hour of play. Speaking of the incident which took place at the time Ronaldo was subbed off, a fan got past the security and entered the field to take a selfie.
However, in a heartwarming gesture, the Al Nassr star stopped the security personnel so that the fan could fulfil his dream before being taken off the field.

Talking of the match, Bernardo Silva gave Portugal the lead in the 28th minute, followed by Ronaldo making it 2-0, netting for a third successive Nations League match. Piotr Zielinski made it 2-1 in the 78th minute, but an own goal from Jan Bednarek in the 88th minute settled the proceedings in Portugal’s favour.

Speaking at the post-match press conference after Portugal’s third straight win in the UEFA Nations League, coach Roberto Martinez hailed the competitiveness in the team. "We have more players (now), the competitiveness for what we are working on is growing, we are an even better prepared team after the European Championship. Our focus and total objective is the World Cup,” he said.
“I am happy, the attitude was incredible, the players' personality was fantastic in a difficult stadium. For us it is a very important performance. We don't want to concede goals, but the performance was very good. We're seeing new debuts, new players, who are coming into the group in a natural way," he added.
