Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard pulled his signature 'Dame Time' celebration after the Bucks registered an epic win over the Sacramento Kings. Lillard hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds left in overtime to secure a 143-142 win over their counterparts at the Fiserv Forum on January 14. This win helped the Bucks get into a three-game winning streak along with improving their record to 27-12.
In the final five seconds of overtime, Lillard inbounded the ball over Brook Lopez as he called for it again. Lillard then raced through the mid-court, and as the clock had only 2.1 seconds remaining, he pulled a classic 3-pointer and made the shot just when the buzzer sounded. After the game, the 33-year-old pulled his vintage ‘Dame Time’ celebration and was joined by his teammates.
Lillard finished with a team-high 29 points and eight assists, while Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 27 points to the team’s total, followed by Malik Beasley’s 23 points and Bobby Portis’ 22. In the post-match interview, the California-born said, "Once the game became one of those moments, I saw it was like four or five seconds down two. They started scrambling a little bit.”
He added, "Once I saw that open space, I was like this is the space that I live in, you know, the end of the game, an opportunity to come up big-- that's what I'm here for." Notably, as his 3-pointer helped his side seal the victory, it also marked Lillard’s 2,500th made three-point basket.
