Australian opener David Warner, who is playing his final Test match of his career, has finally found his lost baggy green. The 37-year-old, who confirmed that the third Test against Pakistan will be his last, had earlier shared a video appealing to return his baggy green which got lost ahead of the final Test on the way to Sydney.
However, midway during his final Test, the Aussie opener reunited with his baggy green and dropped a post on Instagram to share this update. “Hi everyone, I am very pleased and relieved to let you all know that my baggy greens have been found, which is great news. Thanks to all involved and I am extremely grateful. Qantas, the freight company, our hotels and team management. Thanks you,” Warner captioned his post where he spoke of his treasured baggy green.
“Any cricketer knows how special their cap is and I will treasure this for the rest of my life. It is a load off my shoulder going into the last couple of days,” Warner said in the video message ahead of Day 3 of the final Test against Pakistan.
Speaking of the southpaw, the 37-year-old scored 34 runs in the first innings of the ongoing Test before he was bundled out by a catch from Babar Azam off Agha Salman’s bowling. However, in the first Test he played a century knock, scoring 164 off 211 balls in the first innings, he was ducked in the second. Moreover, he could add only 44 runs in Australia’s 79-run win in second Test.
