The match 56 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which was played between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi was marred with controversy. After winning the toss, the Sanju Samson-led Royals invited the Capitals to bat first. On the back of a crucial knock from Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs, the DC posted 221 on the board.
However, anything seems easy to chase in IPL 2024 with the form the teams are performing at the moment, the Royals fell just 20 runs short from their 222-run target. Skipper Sanju Samson’s wicket was which turned things for the RR. The crucial wicket was called by many, despite the availability of high-end technology.
The incident occurred in the 16th over of the RR inning with Shai Hope completing a catch near the boundary. However, the batter seemed unhappy with this decision, the DC owner Parth Jindal, who was present at the stadium was seen bringing in an animated reaction, video of which is going viral on social media. The Indian business tycoon was seen shouting “You’re Out” despite the umpires checking in.

Fans troll Jindal for his animated celebration
This gesture by the Indian businessman did not rest well among the fans. Social media, in particular X (formerly Twitter) was left divided on DC owners celebration on RR skipper’s controversial wicket. While some called out Jindal as “the most irritating franchise owner”, a few others termed this gesture as “disgraceful”.
