During the second Test of the Sri Lanka vs Ireland, the Sri Lankan all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva took a stunning one-handed catch to end Curtis Campher's explosive innings on April 25, Tuesday at the Galle International Stadium, Sri Lanka. On day 1 of the Test, Andrew Balbirnie won the toss and chose to bat first, and in their first innings, they ended up scoring 319 with the loss of four wickets in 90 overs.
Speaking of day 2, Ireland continued to play really well, even though the team saw the dismissal of Lorcan Tucker off Vishwa Fernado’s delivery in the first over of the day. Coming to bat the next was Curtis Campher, who ended up scoring his maiden Test century off 209 deliveries, summing up Ireland’s score to be 492. The young batter scored a total of 111 off 229 deliveries, before he was dismissed by Prabath Jayasuriya, with de Silva taking a fabulous catch. The delivery by Jayasuriya that appeared to elude the fielder ended up being caught by de Silva, who flung to his right side and took a one-handed catch.

With de Silva’s stunning catch, the Sri Lankans managed to restrict the Ireland team under 500. Coming to bat next, Sri Lanka’s skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Nishan Madushka scored their respective centuries. On day 3 stumps, Sri Lanka team managed to pull up a score of 357 on the loss of one wicket in 77 overs.
