The highly anticipated IPL 2024 clash between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans was momentarily interrupted as a dog rushed in at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemadabad. After winning the toss, MI invited the hosts to bat first and the match started with a wave boos, targeting their former captain Hardik Pandya.
The Indian all-rounder was traded to the Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal before the IPL 2024 auction. Marking his return for the five-time champions, Pandya started the match with two overs before returning to the bowl in the 15th over.

As the 30-year-old delivered his first ball, the play was interrupted as a dog rushed into the middle. Soon Pandya completed two more deliveries but the dog re-entered the playing surface and halted the action. The MI captain even tried petting the dog, who was too busy running around the stadium.

Despite the never-ending boos from the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Hardik Pandya had a few kind words for the supporters in Ahemadabad. Speaking at the toss, Pandya said, "Feels good to be back."
"My birthplace is Gujarat, a lot of success came in Gujarat, very grateful to the crowd and this state. My cricketing birth happened in Mumbai, so really good to be back.," he continued.
