Brazilian footballer Endrick scored his first goal at the Santiago Bernabeu when his national side clashed against Spain. The Palmeiras star, who is set to join Real Madrid, scored the goal a few days later when he scored the game-winning goal at the iconic Wembley Stadium. With that, he became the youngest men’s player for either club or country to score a senior goal at the stadium. Endrick’s goal helped the side end the game in a 3-3 draw with their rivals.

The 17-year-old replaced Raphinha in the match against Spain and scored the goal in the first five minutes into the game. Just after the goal, he put his hand to his heart, slid across the turn on his knees, and performed his signature celebration by outstretching his arm. Following that, Endrick headed to the north end of the stadium to find his father, Douglas, and gave him a warm hug.

After the game, the youngster told Spanish television, “I spoke about it on Monday at dinner, I dreamed of scoring my first goal at the Bernabeu. Nobody is better than anyone else here and I owe these two goals to my team-mates and to Dorival for his confidence.” The young footballer has talked about the hardships his family faced. The footballer told TPT, “We were always getting by with the bare minimum. Dad says I’d sit on the couch and tell him, ‘Don’t worry. I’m going to be a footballer, and I’m going to make a better life for us.”

Talking about his father’s effort to make him a professional footballer, Endrick said, “He left home and hitchhiked from Brasilia to São Paulo. Half of the journey was done walking along the highway. His plan was to try out for all the major clubs in the city. It took him a whole week to get there.”
