It has been a fantastic day in world of cricket as fans have seen some batting masterclass by batsmen across the globe in three different formats of the game. While Rohit Sharma scored his first-ever overseas Test ton against England at the Oval, Janneman Malan also smashed his maiden ODI century in Asia during the match against Sri Lanka. On a day of 'first centuries', Faf du Plessis has also registered his maiden T20 hundred in franchise cricket.

The 37-year-old achieved the remarkable feat in match no. 15 of CPL 2021 where Saint Luica Kings were up against the table-toppers St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. After being asked to bat first, the pressure was on Faf du Plessis' side to put up a competitive total on the board. The captain had to lead from the front and he certainly did, that too in some style.

Faf du Plessis scores 120* off 60 deliveries

The right-handed batsman has had a difficult last few months, especially after the horrific concussion he suffered during PSL 2021. He looked out of touch in the initial few matches of CPL 2021, registering scores of 0, 10, 14 and 2. However, Faf du Plessis returned to form on Saturday as he smashed the bowlers all round the park.

He smashed 13 boundaries and 5 sixes during his blistering unbeaten knock of 120* off 60 balls. It was pure class on display from the South African batsman where he absolutely mesmerized everyone who witnessed a special knock. It was a delightful gentle push down the leg which helped him to reach the three-figure landmark, making him the first-ever centurion of this season.

There was certainly a huge sigh of relief on du Plessis' face after completing his century as he silenced his critics to overcome a rough patch of form.

Fans delighted with du Plessis' classy knock

The netizens flooded Twitter with appreciation posts for Faf du Plessis who looked like his old-self on Saturday. Everyone was happy with the fact that the classy batsman is finally back in form after an indifferent start to his CPL 2021 campaign.

The knock by the Saint Lucia Kings' captain guided his side to 224/2 in 20 overs, posing a huge challenge for the table-toppers whose 5-game unbeaten streak might finally come to an end.
