The nail-biting thriller saw plenty of drama unfold as the umpires were forced to change the ball during the match. During the first innings of the game, when South Africa's Donovan Ferreira was batting for his side, a fiery shot by him ended up among the spectators. However, what followed was completely unexpected, something that was never seen in international cricket earlier.

On catching the ball, a fan ended up signing his autograph on the ball before returning it. This action by the fan not only got the cameras panned upon him, but also caught everyone’s attention on social media. In the video that took no time to go viral on social media, the fan could be seen taking his marker out and leaving his autograph on the ball before he threw it back on the field.

The action left no choice for the umpires but forced them to change the ball midway through the match. Speaking of the match, despite their best efforts to avoid a whitewash in the series, the hosts ended up losing it 3-0 against the Kangaroos.
