Gerard Pique, the former Spanish footballer and ex-fiance of pop star Shakira, faced an embarrassing situation at a nightclub in Madrid on Friday night. The 36-year-old was invited to speak on stage at an event for his Kings League tournament, a seven-a-side competition that he founded last year. However, as soon as he grabbed the microphone, the crowd started chanting Shakira's name loudly, making it difficult for him to say anything.

The audience did not stop there, as they also sang along to Shakira's hit song "Waka Waka", which was the official anthem of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. That was where Pique and Shakira first met and fell in love. The video went viral on social media, with many fans mocking Pique and supporting Shakira.

Pique was having a hard time saying anything, but he quoted, “I am also a world champion, and you are nobody. Do something with your lives”, as translated by DeepL. Check out the video here:

Pique and Shakira announced their split last summer after being together for 11 years, and their two sons, Milan and Sasha, are now living with their mother in Miami. The couple had said in a statement that they parted ways for the well-being of their children and asked for privacy and respect.

The breakup came amid rumours that Pique had cheated on Shakira with a model named Clara Chia, whom he reportedly met at a party in Barcelona. The pop singer has since moved on with her life and career. The star also sparked romance rumours with Hollywood star Tom Cruise and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, but neither of them has confirmed or denied the relationship.
