Notably earlier this week, Argentine fans had mocked Cristiano Ronaldo after the Al-Nassr skipper received a straight red card from the referee for elbowing the opposition player during the play. Ronaldo was poked heavily with the “Messi Messi” chants after Al-Alami knocked out of the Saudi Super Cup to Al-Hilal in the semi-finals.
After the conclusion of the first half in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final, as Messi and his teammates were heading to the dressing room, huge roars of “ Cristiano, Cristiano ” covered the stadium in their attempt to give it back to Inter Miami forward’s fans.

During the match between Monterrey and Inter Miami, a young fan was spotted showing Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr jersey from the stands.
Lionel Messi, who returned after missing the first leg due to an injury, was unable to put a decent performance in the game as the visiting side went ahead in the game in the 31st minute itself, with Brandon Vazquez netting the only goal of the first half.
In the second half too, Messi couldn’t provide any impact for the Miami outfit as the Mexican club went on to net two more goals till the 64 minutes against the visiting team’s only goal that came in the wee hours of the match.
