The iconic Gateway of India in Mumbai was lit with the colours of ODI World Cup 2023 on the occasion of the festival of lights. On Friday, November 10, the iconic landmark in the hustling city of Maharashtra, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) showcased a special 3D projection.

The two-minute projection was lit along with a brilliant display of light and sound show at the venue with ODI World Cup 2023 currently taking place in India. The BCCI along with ICC aimed to strength their moto for the CWC 2023 ‘It Takes One Day’, depicting images and visuals alongside the Navarasa symbols.

As reported by the ICC, the visuals portrayed powerful display of technology and emotions and featured state-of-the-art 40,000 lumen projectors. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Ambassador, Sir Viv Richards said, “Ahead of the ICC Men’ Cricket World Cup semi-final in Mumbai, it is fantastic to see the iconic Gateway of India celebrating epic World Cup moment alongside the stunning Navarasa symbols. There has been enthralling cricket on show for all fans to experience a range of emotions and I can’t wait to see what the remaining games have in store.”

Talking about the ODI World Cup, the tournament has almost reached its penultimate stage with only one semifinal berth available. While India was the first to seal a place in the semis, South Africa and Australia are the other two teams to qualify for the semifinals.
