After Gautam Gambhir had a heated altercation with former Indian teammate Sreesanth during Legends League Cricket (LLC) match earlier this month, he avoided a question from reporter about it during his latest public appearance. The 42-year-old didn’t have anything to say about the controversial matter, instead he focused his attention on young players at a charity event in New Delhi.

Sreesanth had made a claim that Gautam Gambhir called him a “fixer” during their heated altercation while they were participating in the LLC match. Shortly afterwards, when Gautam Gambhir shared an old picture of himself smiling on his official Instagram account, Sreesanth posted a lengthy message for him in the comments section, saying that he had respect for him and his family until yesterday and not anymore.
A few days later, when a reporter asked Gautam Gambhir about his response to Sreesanth, he said, “Dekhiye pehli baat toh mere paas aisaa kuch hai nahi iss cheez mein bolne ke liye. (See, I don’t have anything to say about this thing).
“Main yaha par ek nek maqsad se aaya hu, unn yuva khiladiyon ko dekhne aaya hu, unn yuva khiladiyo ko ek platform dene aaya hu ke jo wo apna, apne parivar ka, apne state ka, apne desh ka naam imaandaari se roshan kar sakey, wo mere liye bahut jaroori hai (I have arrived here for a noble cause, to see young players, to give young players the platform to make themselves, their family, their state, and their nation proud in an honest manner, that’s very important for me),” said Gautam Gambhir.
Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family: Sreesanth to Gautam Gambhir
After claiming that Gautam Gambhir called him a “fixer,” Sreesanth had a lot to say to him and he did it through his official Instagram account. He wrote on one of his posts, “You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people. Yet, you continue to engage in conflicts with every cricketer. What is the matter with you? All I did was smile and observe, and you labelled me a fixer? Seriously? Are you above the Supreme Court? You have no authority to speak in such a manner and say whatever you please.”
“You even verbally abused the umpires, and yet you speak of smiling? You are an arrogant and utterly classless individual who lacks any form of respect for those who supported you. Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family,” remarked Sreesanth.
“However, you used the derogatory term "fixer" not just once, but seven or eight times. You even resorted to using the F-word towards the umpires and myself, persistently trying to provoke me. Anyone who has experienced what I have endured would never forgive you. Deep down, you know that what you said and did was wrong. I'm sure even God won't forgive you. You didn't even come to the field after that... Come on, God is watching everything," he concluded.
