Pakistan lost to England in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 but it was not a one-sided game at all. The Men in Green fought till the end and Haris Rauf had a big part to play in that. In fact, Rauf played a pivotal role for Pakistan throughout the tournament. Rauf stepped up on crucial junctures and made a game for Pakistan out of nowhere.
Coming back to his contribution in the final, Rauf bagged two wickets in the summit clash, He dismissed Phil Salt and Jos Buttler in quick succession to wreck England’s top order. Rauf was steaming in and producing absolute jaffas. Not only that, he was also sharing valuable insights with Naseem Shah.
Now, as the pacer returned to his hometown after a great showing at the world event, he received a grand welcome from his family and friends. Rauf was welcomed with a loud cheer and was laden with garlands. Dhol was also playing in the background.

After having proven his mettle in white-ball cricket, Rauf might get his maiden Test call-up soon. With Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi ruled out of the upcoming Test series against England, Rauf’s name is being suggested as Afridi’s replacement. It will be interesting to see how the right-arm quick performs in red-ball cricket.
