The teaser for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction was released on Tuesday morning and was a massive hit. The video garnered over 40K views in just two hours. The number here just testifies the excitement among fans for the mega auction. In the 30-second-long video, the fans are seen discussing the strategies of their favorite franchises.
The video further shows how fans will also be involved in the strategy formation process by the franchises.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction to start at 12 PM
While there is no secret about the dates anymore, it won't be bad to revise everything as no one wants to miss anything. The IPL 2022 Mega Auction is set to take place on 12 and 13 February in Bengaluru. The timings for both days will be 12 PM. However, if anyone is interested in listening to experts discussing what can happen on those two days, they can tune in to the channels at 11 AM.
Apart from the timings, it should be noted that there is a set-wise auction of players. The auction kicks off with the marquee set which consists of ten players. This year, the ten players who have been included in this set are Shreyas Iyer, R Ashwin, Faf du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Shami, Quinton de Kock, David Warner, and Pat Cummins.
590 players set to go under the hammer
The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will see a total of 590 players (370 Indians, 202 Overseas) going under the hammer on 12 and 13 February. Amongst 590 players who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and 7 belong to Associate Nations. Also, the most number of players to register from a foreign nation are from Australia (47).
Talking about the base price of the players, INR 2 crore is the highest reserve price and as many as 48 players have chosen to place themselves in this bracket. There are 20 players in the auction list with a reserve price of INR 1.5 crore while 34 players are in the list of cricketers with a reserve price of INR 1 crore.
