On Sunday, March 23, last season's runners-up, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) are taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in IPL 2025. For the unversed, RR’s stand-in skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to field first.
After inviting the Pat Cummins-led side to bat first, the hosts smashed RR bowlers all over the park. Travis Head added 67 runs off 31 deliveries, their new buy, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan also did not disappoint on his debut. Making a debut for the Orange Army, Ishan Kishan scored an unbeaten 106 off 47 deliveries, with his inning being laced by 11 fours and six maximums.

After Maheesh Theekshana drew the first blood, dismissing Abhishek Sharma in the fourth over, Ishan Kishan walked out amid loud cheers. In the 13th over, the young Indian keeper-batter went onto score his maiden fifty for SRH, bringing up a stylish celebration. He raced to the three-figure mark off 45 deliveries.
With Riyan Parag re-introducing Sandeep Sharma in the 19th over, he hit two consecutive sixes off the fourth and fifth deliveries. On the final delivery off the over, Ishan Kishan ran for two, completing his maiden IPL ton. He struck the RR bowlers at a strike rate of 225.53.

On the back of Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten 106-run knock, SRH posted the second highest IPL total as they added 286 runs in their stipulated 20 overs. Furthermore, it is to be noted that the highest team score in IPL remains to be SRH's, which came in IPL 2024 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
