Hardik Pandya put on a show at the DY Patil Stadium against Rajasthan Royals in Match 24 of IPL 2022. The Gujarat Titans captain notched up a fabulous fifty in just 33 balls. He not only scored a fifty but ended the innings with a brilliant 87* off 52 balls. In the process, Pandya also surpassed Jos Buttler on the list of highest run-getters this season.
Pandya pipped Buttler by four runs to take the pole position in the orange cap race. As soon as Pandya surpassed Buttler on the list, the Rajasthan batter immediately removed the orange cap he was wearing while fielding in the game. He hid the cap in his trouser. This was a wholesome moment on the field.

Buttler gets what's his back!
Hardik Pandya took over the top spot in the orange cap race, but Buttler regained his position shortly after Rajasthan's innings began. As soon as Buttler scored the third four on the third ball of Rajasthan's first over, he became the top scorer in IPL 2022 once again. Buttler continued his brilliant form as he scored a 23-ball half-century before perishing to a slower delivery from Lockie Ferguson.
But during his stay at the crease, Buttler kept GT bowlers on their toes with his rampant batting. The RR opener was dispatching every second ball to the boundary. In his innings of 54, Buttler hit eight fours and three sixes. Till Buttler was there, it seemed Rajasthan will chase down the total easily. But Hardik's ploy to introduce Ferguson reaped rewards as the kiwi pacer completely outfoxed Buttler with his leg--cutter.
