Jose Mourinho, the manager of Fenerbahce, hilariously botched the knee slide celebration after Sofyan Amrabat scored a 102nd minute winner against Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig at the Papara Park. The massive 3-2 win for Fenerbahce on Sunday night, November 3, helped them stay just five points behind Galatasaray at the top of the league after the first 10 rounds of matches.

In the first half, Fred opened the scoring for Fenerbahce in the 42nd minute before Simon Banza converted two penalties in the 59th and 67th minute respectively, to give the hosts Trabzonspor a 2-1 lead. Fenerbahce came back on level terms at 2-2 after Eden Dzeko scored a vital goal in the 75th minute before the added time saw Sofyan Ambrabat put the ball in the back of the net for the visitors, to secure a famous 3-2 victory.

VAR official was having Turkish tea when it was a clear penalty for us: Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho

In the post-match interview, Jose Mourinho, who had just botched the knee slide celebration, spoke about the serious matter at hand, in regard to the two penalties awarded to Trabzonspor in the second half. He criticised the performance of the referee Oguzhan Cakir, along with VAR official Atilla Karaoglan, and remarked, “He [Atilla Karaoglan] was alert to give the two penalty decisions which the referee didn't give and then he was having Turkish tea when it was a clear penalty for us and he didn't give it.”

Jose Mourinho also targeted the officials at Fenerbache for bringing him as the manager of the club without telling him about how the system works in the Turkish Super Lig. He said, “I blame the Fenerbahce people that brought me here. They told me only half of the truth. They didn't tell me the whole truth because if they told me the whole truth, I wouldn't come. But, with half of the truth and my boys, we fight opponents and the system.”

The Portuguese manager further stated on behalf of the Fenerbahce fans about how they don’t want Antilla Karaoglan as the VAR official for their games ever again.
