Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood chased away COVID-positive Cameron Green as the team celebrates Kraigg Brathwaite's wicket in the 2nd Test against West Indies. Playing at the Gabba in Brisbane, the hosts were asked to field first and grabbed the opportunity with both hands as the Windies were left reeling at 145-5 at the dinner break.

Coming back to the incident, Josh Hazlewood sent out a near-perfect outswinger that left Brathwaite and took a slight outside edge which was comfortably collected by Alex Carey. As the Aussies came together to celebrate the dismissal, Cameron Green, who tested COVID-positive ahead of the game, was shooed away by Hazlewood.

Alongside Green, Australian head coach Andre McDonald tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the game. Similarly, top-order batter Travis Head, who also had contracted the virus, was permitted after testing negative on the eve of the match. Though Green was permitted to participate in the match, he was asked to social-distance himself as per the CA protocols which was evident as the all-rounder was standing far from the team during the national anthem.
Cricket Australia's statement on Green and Coach McDonald said, “Cameron Green and Andrew McDonald will be separated from the group until they return a negative test. It will not hinder Green taking part in or McDonald attending the match in line with CA protocols.”
