Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham got emotional after seeing fans recreating his goal celebration as he won the 2023 Golden Boy award, given to the best under-21 footballer in Europe. The English midfielder emerged as one of the best players in the world after completing a blockbuster move from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid.
Playing in Spain, Jude Bellingham has so far 15 goals in 17 appearances and hence won the 2023 Golden Boy Award and the Golden Boy Web Award voted by 3 million fans and readers online. As he went up to collect his accolades in a ceremony in Turin, Italy, a few fans were seen emulating his iconic celebration. Seeing this gesture the 20-year-old got emotional.

Bellingham picks future Golden Boy winners
At the award ceremony, Jude Bellingham was asked about his picks for the Golden Boy accolade in the coming years. The Englishman, while speaking to Tuttosport, named his Real Madrid teammate - Arda Guler; his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and brother Jobe Bellingham, playing for Sunderland.
He said: “I will say three names. First of all, Arda Guler is a phenomenon, we see him training and we are delighted with him. Then my former teammate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, from Borussia Dortmund. And finally, my brother Jobe.”
Rooney was my biggest influence: Bellingham
The Real Madrid star also talked about former Golden Boy Award winner and England great Wayne Rooney as his inspiration growing up. Bellingham said: “For me, I would probably say that Rooney was my biggest influence growing up. Being from England, the way he played, the way he fought. But there are so many other players I’ve taken bits from."
