Defending champions Gujarat Titans hosted two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 9 (Sunday). The match was nothing short of an entertainer as first Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar starred for GT, Rashid Khan and Rinku Singh stole the show in the second innings.
While Rashid Khan’s hat-trick paused the momentum of the game, Rinku Singh’s last over thriller just did the talking for the match against GT. With players celebrating this epic win of Kolkata Knight Riders, co-owner Juhi Chawla, who was also present at the stadium saw break down in tears of joy.
In the video going viral, Juhi Chawla can be seen wiping off her tears with Venky Mysore by his side.

Talking about the match, stand-in skipper Rashid Khan won the toss and opted to bat first. While the openers failed to go big, Sai Sudharsan (53) and Vijay Shankar (63*) powered the hosts to 204 in their 20 overs. Rashid Khan registered the first hat-trick as he dismissed Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur on back-to-back deliveries.
But Rinku Singh’s five back-to-back sixes off Yash Dayal propelled the side to their second win. With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved to the second position with four points from their three matches.
