Kerala Police used an innovative method including Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and young Australian batter Sam Konstas to spread awareness on road safety and advising citizens to drive their vehicle in a right lane. Notably, Virat Kohli bumped shoulders against 19 years old Sam Konstas, who made his debut for Australia during the recently ended Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The controversy between the two cricketers got a lot of limelight on social media.

However, Kerala Police also found the controversy between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas a perfect example to make the citizens aware of road safety. They shared a video of Kohli bumping shoulders against Konstas on social media with a caption “It's okay to be "King” Follow traffic rules. While keeping yourself safe. Keep others safe too.” In a video, Sam Konstas was labelled "coming from the right side," with green font in Malayalam language, while Virat Kohli was shown as “Vehicle coming on the wrong side,” in red. After both the players collided, the message appeared on a screen quoted as ‘Stay in your lane.”
