The Match 2 of Legends League Cricket saw the return of some big names in world cricket back on the field. After India Maharajas clinched a victory in the tournament opener, the stage was set on Friday for a much-anticipated contest between Asia Lions and World Giants.
With Daren Sammy's side being asked to bat first, the fans were eagerly waiting for a contest between two legends - Chaminda Vaas vs Kevin Pietersen! And much to everyone's delight, the duo didn't disappoint as they produced a sequence of top-class cricket.
After a very slow start for World Giants with only 2 runs scored in 2 overs, Pietersen decided to unleash himself against Vaas in Oman. The right-handed batsman kicked off the third over with a gigantic six over deep mid-wicket. The shackles were broken and KP followed it up with another huge six, this time over long-off.

While any bowler would feel the pressure in such a situation, it was never going to be the case with Chaminda Vaas. Using all of his experience, the left-arm pacer just shortened his length slightly and bowled the next delivery a bit wider. Pietersen, who was looking to complete a hattrick of sixes, mistimed the shot and the ball went straight into hands of Mohammad Hafeez standing at long-on.
