LA Knight, one of the hottest stars in WWE today, was attacked backstage by LWO member Santos Escobar and Butch of the Brawling Brutes at SmackDown LowDown on June 16, Friday. When the WWE interviewer Megan Morant asked the American professional wrestler about what had transpired earlier in the night on SmackDown, the two of his fellow participants in the Money in the Bank ladder match got into a heated brawl with him.

During this week’s edition of SmackDown at the Rupp Arena in Louisville, LA Knight had a one-on-one match with Santos Escobar. Both wrestlers traded shots against each other in an intense battle. Knight tried to pin Escobar with a hand on the ropes, but the Mexican kicked out in the nick of time. Suddenly, he rolled up the American to score a quick pinfall victory.

Post-match, LA Knight tried to jump on Santos Escobar, but his fellow LWO member and the WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio made the save.

Later in the evening, LA Knight responded to the question about the events of SmackDown to Megan Morant. He said to her, “You know what happened out there? The only thing that happened is what's gonna happen at Money in the Bank. Santos is left laying, everybody's gonna be left laying.”

But moments later, he was interrupted by Butch, they talked smack to each other before Santos Escobar came from behind to start a brawl with LA Knight. Then, all the three wrestlers got into a fistfight, which the WWE officials tried to stop after rushing onto the scene.
