The 17-year-old received the award during the Ballon D’or award ceremony in Paris on October 28. Now, a few days after this achievement, a video is going viral all over the internet where Yamal’s Barcelona teammate Raphinha presented him with a special gold plated IPhone with his name and jersey number written on the back.

According to Barca Universal, the value of the gold plated iPhone is estimated to be around €10,000 ($10,623). Raphinha presents gold iPhone to Lamine Yamal after getting inspired Lionel Messi

Barcelona winger Raphinha seemed to get inspired from Argentine star footballer Lionel Messi when he presented Lamine Yamal with a special gold plated iPhone. Notably, Messi also performed the same gesture when Argentina won the FIFA World Cup in Qatar back in 2022. The Argentine skipper ordered 35 gold iPhones worth ₹1.73 crore for the players and staff members of the Argentina National football team after winning the prestigious football trophy in 2022.

“Raphinha presented the solid gold iPhone to Yamal when they were together and he was delighted. It was a mark of their friendship both off and on the field and was given to him after the Ballon D’Or ceremony where he got the Koba trophy. Raphinha had the phone made especially for Yamal by I Design Gold and it was tailored to all of his preferences and has his name engraved on the back,” a source was quoted as saying by The Free Press Journal.
