After missing out on the Los Angeles Lakers trip to the TD Garden on Thursday, LeBron James and Anthony Davis returned as the Lakers registered back-to-back road victories in the 2023-24 NBA regular season on Saturday night. After winning 113-105 against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Lakers star forward LeBron James advised the young players to "worry about the game" and not to focus on materialistic stuff.

In a post-game interview, LeBron James talked about how young players are getting unfocused these days with " the cars and the jewelry and all the other dumb sh*t. " The all-time leading point-scorer in the NBA advised aspiring ballers to worry about the game if they want to be great in the league.
LeBron said, " Just pour it all into the game - if you want to be great and if you want to be someone that will be never forgotten in the league, the cars and the jewelry and all the other dumb s— that don’t matter means absolutely nothing."
He added, "I see a lot of these young kids get so unfocused about stuff that is so material. They can lose their focus. Worry about the game and everything will take care of itself."

Lakers snap Knicks' 9-game winning streak
The Los Angeles Lakers won two road games in a row and went above .500 in the league as they defeated the New York Knicks on Saturday night at the MSG. The Knicks' last defeat came against the Orlando Magic, which was also at the MSG, on January 15 as they won their next nine games.
However, LeBron James led the Lakers to an eight-point win against the Knicks and snapped their nine-game winning streak. The four-time NBA champion displayed an all-round performance as he registered a team-high 24 points (52.6% FGM) with five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. Apart from James, Austin Reaves continued his dominant form and scored 22 points with 3-off-6 shooting from the three-point range.
For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson, who was named the Eastern Conference All-Stars reserve for the first time, registered a game-high 36 points with 10 assists and six rebounds while Donte DiVincenzo scored 26 points with six three-pointers. The Lakers improved their season record to 26-25 and will next travel to the Spectrum Center to face the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, February 5.
