Liverpool suffered a shocking 0-1 defeat against a recently promoted Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The last-place team secured only its second win of the season thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal.  The Nigerian striker scored in the 55th minute of the game and ended the Reds’ three-game winning streak.

After the game, Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson, who is loaned to Nottingham Forest, had a funny interaction with the Liverpool fans in West Bridgford. As the English gloveman was celebrating the win while exiting the pitch, the away section full of Liverpool fans started calling him out. Henderson addressed these fans by showing them the middle finger while giggling away into the dressing room.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was visibly upset with the result as his team was getting back to winning ways after registering three straight victories against Rangers FC, Manchester City and West Ham United. In the post-match press conference, the German manager talked about how his players had the intent and mentality to win but failed to finish chances which eventually cost them three points.

He said, "It’s not that the boys didn’t want [to win], the fight and the spirit was there, everything was fine. Who can we blame for not finishing the situation off? It is a big blow for us because we came here and wanted to get the three points. You can look back and think: ‘How did that happen?’ But it happened and that’s it."
