After losing their first two Ashes Test matches against Australia, the hosts England bounced back in the third Test at Headingley, winning the game by three wickets. However, the Three Lions faced a disappointing result in the fourth Test after leading the game for the majority of the time. Ahead of their final Test match of the series against Australia, England skipper Ben Stokes participated in a pre-match press conference which was interrupted by Mark Wood's prank.
Australia kick-started the Ashes series with two consecutive wins as they won the first match by two wickets followed by their 43-run win in the second Test. However, England bounced back with a victory in the third match and dominated the fourth match, which unfortunately resulted in a draw due to rain. With the fourth match ending in a tie, Australia retained the Ashes for a third consecutive time and crushed England's dreams of winning the Ashes for the first time since 2015.
Ahead of their final clash, Ben Stokes appeared in an interview that was 'hijacked' by pacer Mark Wood, who played a Barbie song on the microphone. The prank left everyone in splits including Stokes, who spotted Wood and called him out, "Woody."
