With this result, Athletic closed down on the fourth-placed Atletico Madrid as they trail by three points. For the 2024-25 season, the top four in La Liga will play the Champions League. Atletico has five games to play, including a clash against Mallorca on Saturday while Athletic has four remaining. Talking about Getafe, the Ernesto Valverde side has four fixtures left in their 2024 season, including a big-ticket clash against Atletico on May 16.
