But, it was the flying knee from the 27-year-old on Ihor Potieria, which gathered all the headlines, for which he got rewarded with a $50k bonus from the UFC.
During this short fight in the middleweight division, Michel Pereira hit a huge two-punch combination on Ihor Potieria before he flew in the air to avoid an up-kick from him. The backflip from Pereira led to him crash-landing his knee on the chin of Potieria, who was on the floor.
Following this, Michel Pereira overwhelmed Ihor Potieria with a series of punches before applying the guillotine choke to secure a submission win at UFC 301 in front of his Brazilian supporters in Rio de Janeiro. Before the UFC announcer Bruce Buffer declared Michel Pereira the winner, the commission officials were spotted discussing whether they should overturn the decision in favour of his opponent for the illegal shot he had landed.
Moreover, after the completion of the UFC 301 PPV at the Farmasi Arena, the UFC officials awarded Michel Pereira with a $50k bonus for the fourth night in a row.
With this big victory, he extended his winning streak in the UFC to eight, taking his performances to the next level since joining the middleweight division last year. All three fights for Michel Pereira in his new weight class have ended in the first round with him spending the longest time of 66 seconds inside the octagon.
