The first match of the three-match ODI series between Afghanistan and Pakistan is underway at the  Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka as the Men in Green decided to bat first after winning the toss. While the Afghanistan bowlers continuously put Pakistan batters under pressure, veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi appeared to be furious with teammate Rahmat Shah, who almost dropped Fakhar Zaman's catch.

The incident took place on the fourth delivery of the first over bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi, which was faced by Fakhar Zaman. Farooqi bowled a length ball moving away from the left-hander, who got a thick outside edge to the wide-second slip. Afghanistan batter Rahmat Shah, who was fielding at the slip alongside Nabi, fumbled an easy-looking catch that fortunately landed in Nabi's hands following the deflection.

However, Nabi was furious with Shah's effort as he almost dropped the catch, which gave a brilliant start to the Afghanistan side. The 38-year-old all-rounder gave an angry reaction to Shah while the other players celebrated the breakthrough in the first over. Nabi appeared to aim a throw at Shah in a viral video on social media as fans reviewed the incident on social media.
