Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan pulled off a superhuman catch to dismiss Zakir Hasan in the first Test against Bangladesh. As the cricketing action between the two South Asian nations reached day three of the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rizwan pulled off a stunner, recording Naseem Shah’s first breakthrough. With this, Hasan was forced to walk back to the pavilion after having scored just 12 runs off 58 deliveries.
On the last ball of the 17th over, the 21-year-old pacing sensation bowled a back-of-length delivery which pitched well outside the off-stump. The Bangladeshi batter chased the ball by looking to drive through the offside with no foot movement. Zakir got an outside edge, leading the ball to fly towards the slip cordon.
The Pakistani wicket keeper ran to his left and stretched his left hand and pulled off a one-handed stunner to register their first success of the game. Talking about Pakistan’s innings, the Shan Masood-led side declared their innings on 448 runs with the loss of six wickets. Rizwan and Saud Shakeel came up with brilliant knocks of 171* runs off 239 deliveries and 141 runs off 261 deliveries, respectively.
Apart from them, Saim Ayub came up with a knock of 56 runs off 98 deliveries, followed by Salman Ali Agha’s 19 runs and Shaheen Afridi’s 29*runs. At the time of writing, Bangladesh were trailing by 388 runs with Shadman Islam batting at 21 runs and Mominul Haque batting at six runs.
