The UPT20 2023 is a T20 format cricket tournament organized by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association for only the players associated with the UPCA. Six dynamic teams from various towns in Uttar Pradesh, including Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Meerut, and Noida, are competing in the event in a round-robin format at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium.

In Tuesday’s match between the Lucknow Falcons and Kashi Rudras, Mohammad Sharim grabbed instant attention as he displayed a stunning piece of fielding near the boundary.
In the 14th over of the first innings, Atal Bihari-Rai was bowling to the Falcons batting pair of Shaurya Singh and Ali Zafar. Bihari-Rai bowled a good length delivery to Singh on the second ball of the over. Singh looked to slog it on the leg-side for a six, but unfortunately the energy was not sufficient for the ball to clear the rope. Mohammad Sharim, who was stationed in the deep, jumped backwards to get a hand on the ball. He caught the ball at once but released it in air and completed the catch stepping back inside the field of play to complete the catch.

This wicket proved to be a huge breakthrough, as well-set Shaurya Singh was dismissed for 52 (32). The Lucknow Falcons wrapped up their innings soon after for a below par total of 142. In response, the Kashi Rudras steamrolled the Lucknow bowling attack and sealed the chase in just 14 overs.
