Members of the World Cup winning Indian team were forced for an extended stay in the Caribbean islands after Hurricane Beryl hit on Sunday, June 30. After they had to stay inside their hotel in Barbados due to acute weather conditions, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj took his time to watch Portugal’s UEFA Euro 2024 match against Slovenia.

Although the Portugal side ended the clash in a goalless tie in Frankfurt, Mohammed Siraj, who has been an ardent fan of the Portuguese international and is often seen bringing up his ‘Siuu’ celebrations after taking crucial wickets, was seen celebrating his penalty in the Euro 2024 against Slovenia.

Siraj has been vocal about emulating Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebrations. Speaking ahead of India’s Super 8 clash against Afghanistan in The T20 World Cup 2024, Siraj revealed that he does them as he admires him for his fitness and never-give-up attitude. “I only do the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration when I clean bowl someone, then only I come up with that celebration, not for a catch or LBW,” he said while speaking to teammate Kuldeep Yadav.

“I do Cristiano Ronaldo celebration because I like and admire him because of his work ethic, the routine that he follows, and the way he performs consistently. He always has never-give-up attitude, his fitness and recovery. I like that kind of attitude,” he added.
