India and South Africa are currently fighting it out in the second One Day International of the three-match series in Ranchi. While India started on a positive note, having scalped a couple of wickets inside the first 10 overs, half-centuries from Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram powered them to 278/7 in their 50 overs.
For India, it was Mohammed Siraj who was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with figures of 3/38 in his 10 overs. While the right-arm pacer had an otherwise great day on the field, an incident involving him in what was the 48th over of the innings, cost India 4 extra runs.
Having done his job by beating the batter, Siraj should have been happy having bowled a dot ball at the death but instead, when wicketkeeper Sanju Samson gave the ball back to him, he had a shy at the stumps at the non-striking end where David Miller was outside his crease.
Siraj though missed the stumps as India conceded 4 extra runs. However, later the bowler was seen having a word with the umpire as if to suggest they should consider the dead after he delivered the ball.
