Star Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj walked off the field after getting injured during the first Test against Bangladesh. Notably, India are hosting Bangladesh for a two-match Test series, with the first Test getting kicked off on September 20. After batting first, India posted a score of 376 runs on board in 91.2 overs. In return, Bangladesh got off to a troubling start with the bat and were reduced to 22-2 within first 10 overs.
Indian bowlers continued to do their magic, including Mohammed Siraj and kept picking wickets. However, in an unfortunate event, fast bowler Mohammed Siraj walked off the ground after sustaining injury. The pacer picked an injury on his left knee while he was fielding near the boundary. After throwing the ball, Siraj received first aid by the team physio before he eventually limped off the ground.
Mohammed Siraj dismisses Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto for 20
The Indian bowler got better of Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto in the ongoing Test on Day 2. Hossain had to walk out to bat in the second over itself and he was at the other end when wickets fall in hurry and he had to cut short his small trip to the field. On the first ball of the 12th over, the visiting skipper chased a ball outside the off stump delivered by Siraj.
Shanto got a thick edge and Virat Kohli who was positioned in the slip, got low and took the catch. Shanto had to walk back for 20 off 30 deliveries, and following his dismissal, Bangladesh were left on 36/4 after 11.1 overs.
