Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj pulled off an incredible catch to dismiss Nitish Kumar in the T20 World Cup 2024 clash between the USA and India. After winning toss the Men in Blue dominated the World Cup co-hosts to 25-3 in 7.2 overs when Nitish Kumar with Steven Taylor and Corey Anderson steadied the innings with a few partnerships.
After Taylor's wicket when the score was 56, Anderson and Kumar posted a 25-run stand. After getting a few runs under his name, Kumar attempted to smash Arshdeep Singh's short-ball over the leg side. Positioned in-front of the deep square leg, Siraj was under the ball and perfectly timed his jump after taking a couple of steps backwards to complete a brilliant overhead catch.

I think we're disappointed to get this score: Nitish Kumar
After this wicket, the USA innings lost some steam and managed to post a low total of 110-8 in 20 overs. For the Men in Blue, Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 4-9, the best bowling figures of an Indian bowler in T20 World Cup history.
Talking about this batting effort, Nitish Kumar said, "I think we're disappointed to get this score from where we were (at one stage of our innings), we are 20 runs short, but we've the runs on the board, the wicket isn't the easiest and we'll look to defend. The crowd is always behind us and it's nice to play in front of them."
