In match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are hosting the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Earlier in the match, home skipper, KL Rahul won the toss and invited the Shreyas Iyer-led side to bat first.

During KKR inning which saw them post 235 runs on the board at the loss of six wickets in their 20 over quota, LSG suffered a massive blow with Indian pacer Mohsin Khan walking off the field. On the third delivery of the 12th over, and Sunil Narine hitting all-round the stadium, he smashed the ball over point.

Khan, who was stationed at point, did a brilliant dive in order to collect the ball, but just fell short and in the process landed on the ground, face first. After this blow, Mohsin was forced to walk off the field and receive some medical attention. In his place, LSG were forced to make a change, calling in Yudhvir Singh Charak as Khan’s concussion substitute.

Yudhvir Singh becomes second concussion substitute in IPL history

With this forced change, Yudhvir Singh Charak became only the second concussion substitute in IPL history. He comes after Vishnu Vinod, who had replaced Ishan Kishan for Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier of IPL 2023.

This change came in good for the Lucknow-based franchise as he got a crucial wicket on the first ball of his first over. The right-arm pacer struck on the first delivery, getting Angkrish Raghuvanshi caught behind on 32.
