The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match is a do-or-die one both the teams seeing the IPL 2024 playoffs ahead. With the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) already sealing their spot, either of RCB or CSK will head further, depending on the result of the match, underway at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
While it was the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK that won the toss, they invited RCB to put the score first on the board. With Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis giving a brisk start to the side, things slowed down after quick showers stopped the game. Later, Virat Kohli had to depart, falling short of his half century and Faf du Plessis also being dismissed in a controversial run-out.
On the final ball of the 13th over, which was bowled by Mitchell Santner, the bowler got his fingertip to intercept Rajat Patidar’s shot when Faf was backing up. After an appeal from the CSK bowler, the umpire went upstairs to the third umpire, who eventually called this decision as out. The RCB skipper had to return and, on his way out to the dugout he seemed annoyed with the decision, along with other members of the team.

This wicket did not rest well among the fans and cricket enthusiasts as they went on to take a dig at CSK. While some fans termed CSK as “fixers” even the umpires were not left out.
